- relatively simple design with precise individual parts and no moving parts

- very compact and low-maintenance

- connection to constant oxygen supply, e.g. common hospital oxygen supply systems

- no intubation / no sedation necessary

- successful use in more than 60 English hospitals (10.000 units were manufactured and delivered in the UK)

- based on the experience from England and other internationl data, the rate of patients, that can be kept from the invasive mechanical ventilators can be reduced by 50-60% when a CPAP device is used
